Sarkhez Roza Mosque – Makraba, History, Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Sarkhez Roza is a mosque located in Makarba village about 7 kilometers from Ahmedabad in the Indian state of Gujarat. The mosque is one of the famous Islamic holy places in this state. The first stone of this mosque laid in 1445. The whole structure of this mosque completed in 1451. Sarkhez Roza was founded by Gujarat Sultanate rulers.
Although there were many Rozas, Sarkhez Roza is most revered. The Architecture of the mosque complex was credited by two Persian brothers Azam and Muazzam Khan. Many monuments are built during the period of 17th century. Sarkhez Roza fused non-Indian and Indian principles.
