Mansa Devi Temple | Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine, Chandigarh
Mansa Devi Temple is one of the famous and highly revered temple for Hindus. It is dedicated to Mansa Devi an incarnation of Shakti. The temple is situated on the foothills of Shivalik. And is located in the Village Bilaspur, Panchkula. Thousands of Devotees from across the world have been visiting the temple to have a glimpse of the goddess Mansa Devi. One can find the shrine crowded with devotees especially during the Navratra Mela.

The mela lasts for nine days. Every year two Navratra melas are organized in the months of Ashvin and Chaitra. During this time of the year, millions of devotees paid obeisance at the temple. Moreover, they can enchant the festivity mood here. Apart from the Mansa Devi Temple, the devotees can also visit a nearby temple named ‘Patiala’ which was got constructed by Sh. Karam Singh, the then Maharaja Patiala in the year 1840.
Legend And History Of Mansa Devi Temple:
According to the famous folklore, a cow used to pay a visit every day and offer milk at 3 adjoining stones(Pindies) places on a Shivalik hilltop. Finally one day the incident was witnessed by local residents. They went to a hilltop and found the three pious self-originated Shilas. From then they started worshipping. And was found to be the forehead of Shri Sati. Later they constructed the temple. Maharaja Gopal Singh of Manimajra constructed the present main temple of Shri Mansa Devi.
