Keshava Deo Temple, Keshav Dev Temple, Krishna Janmasthan, Uttar Pradesh
Keshav Dev Temple is one of the most famous temples in Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, it is highly revered temple for Hindus. Owing to people believed that it was a birthplace of the deity Krishna. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and was built in Mathura over the prison. Being the ancient temple, it has been attracting the devotees from all over the world. The main deity in the temple gives darshan in a standing posture. All days of the week Keshava Deo Temple remains opens from 5 AM to 9:30 PM.
According to the famous folklore, the presiding deity was installed by Bajranabh, the great-grandson of Krishna. In the year 1670, the temple was demolished by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Later a mosque was built in the original site of the Keshava Dev Temple.
