Legend And History Of Chandi Devi Temple:

According to the famous legend Goddess, Chandika Devi rested for a short while on Neel Parvat after killing the demons named Shumbh and Nishumbha. As per the traditional beliefs, The demons Shumbh and Nishumbha conquered the kingdom of Lord Indra. Moreover, the demons had begun to throw away the Gods from heaven. In that desperate situation, he met Goddess Parvati and presented the situation in front of her. Then she created a Goddess named Chandika Devi she was very beautiful.  After seeing her demon king Shumbh expressed his desire to marry her. But she denied his proposal. This denial led to a furious war. The goddess killed the demon kings Shumbh and Nishumbh in that battle.
